Back To The Real World

After 4 weeks of rest and recouperation it’s back to work and waking up at 3:30 in the morning.  I’m so happy to back with my co-host and team of co-workers who have been nice enough to cover for me while I’ve been gone.

There are a lot of really awesome things about being a radio host, it’s fun and compared to some jobs, pretty low stress but waking up at 3:30 presents some challenges most of them are sleeping and eating.  As someone who’s never been much of a planner, this is a big adjustment, the night before work I pack my breakfast, vitamins and lunch.

Food for a few healthy breakfasts: Premier protein to use as decaf coffee creamer, deli turkey(serving 2 slices per meal), Babybel light (1 per serving), high protein Icelandic yogurt and of course water!

I even set out my outfit for the next day so I can sleep in until the very last second.   After enjoying 8 hrs of uninterrupted sleep while I was off, I’ve realized I need to be more consciencous about bedtimes. I’m not great at going to bed early, in fact until my surgery it wasn’t out of the ordinary for me to be up until 11pm and wake up at 3:30.  Not so healthy and I noticed how much better my body felt with sleep while I was off so that’s the new plan.    Feeling so good to be back and dead set on sticking to my plan.
